DUNGA radio drama series: A radio drama that provides a learning platform and development of important skills for children through songs, storytelling, plays and reflect on issues raising focusing on social, emotional and learning skills.

AMALNA, in partnership with IRC, adapted, translated, produced, distributed and broadcast DUNGA radio drama and translated educational materials engaging children aged 3 -12 years in Northern Baherl Ghazel and south counties in South Sudan. Dunga is a radio program for children to continue learning and develop important skills even when out of school. Under the Resilience Expansion and Active Learning in Crisis (REAL) project implemented by international rescue committee (IRC) with support from LEGO foundation.

Dunga radio drama series teaches children through songs, storytelling, plays and how to react to different situations on their daily lives. The program provides a learning platform and the development of important skills to the children even when they are out of school. The program also aimed at providing a platform for children and their caregivers/parents to come together to participate in the stories and reflect on the issues raised focusing on social, emotional and learning skills.

DUNGA Arabic version was initially produced in Kakuma and Uganda Refugee camps and adapted, translated, produced and distributed in Dinka language. The 20 radio episodes in Arabic version were played on Eye radio reaching an estimated listenership of 15,000 across 7 states in South Sudan.  The DUNGA Dinka version was played on Akol Yam 91.0 FM and WeerBir FM 99.9. The DUNGA reached a total of 46,400 children and 800 caretakers. That is s 19,068 in Aweil South and 27,332 in Aweil East.
